  1. (d) Impact parameter for Rutherford scattering experiment,

$b=\frac{Z e^{2} \cot (\frac{\theta}{2})}{4 \pi \epsilon_0 k_i}=0 \Rightarrow \cot (\frac{\theta}{2})=0$

$\Rightarrow \frac{\theta}{2}=90^{\circ}$ or $\theta=180^{\circ}$

For large value of $b$, alpha particle will go undeviated and for small $b$ the alpha particle will suffer large scattering.
