(b) $\frac{3}{5}$
(c) $\frac{4}{5}$
(d) 1
Show Answer
Solution:
- The balanced chemical reaction is :
$2 \mathrm{MnO}{4}^{-}+5 \mathrm{SO}{3}^{2-}+6 \mathrm{H}^{+} \longrightarrow 2 \mathrm{Mn}^{2+}+5 \mathrm{SO}{4}^{2-}+3 \mathrm{H}{2} \mathrm{O}$
$\because 5$ moles $\mathrm{SO}{3}^{2-}$ reacts with 2 moles of $\mathrm{KMnO}{4}$
$\therefore 1$ mole of $\mathrm{SO}{3}^{2-}$ will react with $\frac{2}{5}$ mole $\mathrm{KMnO}{4}$.
