Work Power Energy Question 1

Question 1 - 2024 (27 Jan Shift 1)

Two bodies of mass $4 \mathrm{~g}$ and $25 \mathrm{~g}$ are moving with equal kinetic energies. The ratio of magnitude of their linear momentum is :

(1) $3: 5$

(2) $5: 4$

(3) $2: 5$

(4) $4: 5$

Show Answer

Answer: (3)

Solution:

$\frac{\mathrm{P}{1}^{2}}{2 \mathrm{~m}{1}}=\frac{\mathrm{P}{2}^{2}}{2 \mathrm{~m}{2}}$

$\frac{\mathrm{P}{1}}{\mathrm{P}{2}}=\sqrt{\frac{\mathrm{m}{1}}{\mathrm{~m}{2}}}=\frac{2}{5}$
