A potential divider circuit is shown in figure. The output voltage $V_{0}$ is

(1) $4 \mathrm{~V}$

(2) $2 \mathrm{mV}$

(3) $0.5 \mathrm{~V}$

Solution:

$R_{e q}=4000 \Omega$

$i=\frac{4}{4000}=\frac{1}{1000} \mathrm{~A}$

$V_{0}=i . R=\frac{1}{1000} \times 500=0.5 \mathrm{~V}$
