Atomic Physics Question 10
Question 10 - 2024 (30 Jan Shift 2)
An electron revolving in $\mathrm{n}^{\text {th }}$ Bohr orbit has magnetic moment $\mu_{n}$. If $\mu_{n} \alpha n^{x}$, the value of $x$ is:
(1) 2
(2) 1
(3) 3
(4) 0
Show Answer
Answer: (2)
Solution:
Magnetic moment $=\mathrm{i} \pi \mathrm{r}^{2}$
$\mu=\frac{\text { evr }}{2}$
$\mu \alpha\left(\frac{1}{n}\right) n^{2}$
$\mu \alpha n$
$x=1$
