Solutions Question 6
Question 6 - 2024 (29 Jan Shift 1)
The osmotic pressure of a dilute solution is $7 \times 10^{5} \mathrm{~Pa}$ at $273 \mathrm{~K}$. Osmotic pressure of the same solution at $283 \mathrm{~K}$ is ________ $\times 10^{4} \mathrm{Nm}^{-2}$.
Show Answer
Answer (73)
Solution
$\pi=\mathrm{CRT}$
$\Rightarrow \frac{\pi_{1}}{\pi_{2}}=\frac{\mathrm{T}{1}}{\mathrm{~T}{2}}$
$\Rightarrow \pi_{2}=\frac{\pi_{1} \mathrm{~T}{2}}{\mathrm{~T}{1}}=\frac{7 \times 10^{5} \times 283}{273}$
$=72.56 \times 10^{4} \mathrm{Nm}^{-2}$
