$\mathrm{Cr}{2} \mathrm{O}{7}^{2-}+\mathrm{XH}^{+}+\mathrm{Ye}^{-} \rightarrow 2 \mathrm{~A}+\mathrm{ZH}_{2} \mathrm{O}$

$\mathrm{X}, \mathrm{Y}, \mathrm{Z}$ and $\mathrm{A}$ are respectively are:

(1) $8,6,4$ and $\mathrm{Cr}{2} \mathrm{O}{3}$

(2) $14,7,6$ and $\mathrm{Cr}^{3+}$

(3) $8,4,6$ and $\mathrm{Cr}{2} \mathrm{O}{3}$

(4) $14,6,7$ and $\mathrm{Cr}^{3+}$

Solution

The balanced reaction is,

$\mathrm{Cr}{2} \mathrm{O}{7}^{2-}+14 \mathrm{H}^{+}+6 \mathrm{e}^{-} \rightarrow 2 \mathrm{Cr}^{3+}+7 \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}$

$\mathrm{X}=14$

$\mathrm{Y}=6$

$\mathrm{A}=7$
