Motion In Two Dimensions Question 1
Question 1 - 24 January - Shift 1
The maximum vertical height to which a man can throw a ball is $136 m$. The maximum horizontal distance upto which he can throw the same ball is
(1) $192 m$
(2) $136 m$
(3) $272 m$
(4) $68 m$
Show Answer
Answer: (3)
Solution:
Formula: Maximum height, Horizontal range
$H _{\text{max }}^{\text{mathon }}=\frac{v^{2}}{2 g}=136 m$
$R _{\text{max }}^{\text{mathon }}=\frac{v^{2}}{g}=2 H _{\text{max }}$
$=2(136)$
$=272 m$
