Current Electricity Question 4
Question 4 - 24 January - Shift 2
If a copper wire is stretched to increase its length by $20 %$. The percentage increase in resistance of the wire is $%$.
Show Answer
Answer: (44)
Solution:
Formula: Resistance of a conductor
As volume is constant,
So resistance $\propto(\text{ length })^{2}$
$\Rightarrow %$ change in resistance $=20+20+\frac{400}{100}=44 %$
