CBI Cracks Down on NEET-UG Scam, Arrests Two Key Accused

In a significant breakthrough, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two individuals, including a civil engineer, in connection with the NEET-UG probe. The engineer, Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a resident of Bokaro, was involved in tampering with sealed question papers kept in sealed boxes at the National Testing Agency (NTA) centre in Hazaribag. According to sources, Aditya stole the sealed question paper box from an aluminium trunk sent to Hazaribag by NTA after tampering with it.

Aditya, who passed civil engineering from NIT-Jamshedpur in 2017, was the technical expert behind the gang. His arrest came after the CBI apprehended Rajkumar Singh, a guest house owner from Hazaribag, who allegedly assisted Aditya in stealing the paper and passing it to exam mafias. The arrests are crucial in determining the origin of the conspiracy and the scale of the nationwide network involved in leaking question papers.

The CBI had earlier arrested Hazaribag-based Oasis School principal Ehsanul Haque and vice-principal Md Imtiaz Alam, as well as Hazaribag journalist Jamaluddin, in connection with the case. The probe agency has been working tirelessly to crack down on irregularities in the medical entrance exam, following a nationwide uproar over the NEET-UG question paper theft.

It is worth noting that the National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier denied any question paper leak in Patna and Sawai Madhopur, and had taken measures to ensure the integrity of the exams in these centres. Meanwhile, a tragic incident occurred in Hazaribag, where a 13-year-old boy died in a lightning strike, leaving another 15-year-old boy critically injured. The incident was reported by Barkagaon SDPO Kuldeep Kumar, and further details are awaited.

Stay updated for more information on these developments, as the CBI continues its crackdown on the NEET-UG scam.
