CLAT 2025 Registration Opens Tomorrow: Know the Date, Fee, Eligibility, and How to Apply

The Consortium of National Law Universities is set to open the registration window for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 tomorrow, July 15, 2024. Aspiring law students seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other participating institutes can apply for CLAT 2025 at the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

Eligibility Criteria

For CLAT-UG 2025, candidates must secure a minimum of 45% marks or its equivalent grade in their qualifying examination (10+2 or an equivalent examination) for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories. For SC/ST categories, the minimum percentage required is 40%. There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the UG program through CLAT 2025.

For CLAT-PG 2025, candidates must hold an LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks or its equivalent grade for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories. For SC/ST categories, the minimum percentage required is 45%. Again, there is no upper age limit for appearing for the CLAT PG program.

Application Fee

The application fee for CLAT 2025 is ₹4,000 for General category candidates and ₹3,500 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

How to Apply

To apply for CLAT 2025, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official CLAT website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  2. Click on the CLAT 2025 registration link available on the homepage.
  3. Enter your required details and submit them to register.
  4. Log in to your account by entering your credentials.
  5. Fill out the application form.
  6. Pay the application fee.
  7. Click on the submit button.
  8. Download a copy of the confirmation page.
  9. Save and print a copy of the application for future reference.

Exam Pattern

The CLAT UG exam will be a 2-hour test consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each. There will be a negative mark of 0.25 for every wrong answer. The exam will cover topics such as English language, current affairs, general knowledge, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, and quantitative techniques. The CLAT PG question paper will comprise questions on constitutional law, jurisprudence, family law, criminal law, property law, administrative law, law of contract, torts, company law, public international law, tax law, environmental law, and labour and industrial law.
