The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is set to commence the registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2025) for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses on July 15, 2024. Aspiring law students can now apply for the national-level entrance exam on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

The registration window will remain open until October 15, 2024, and candidates are required to submit the application fee before the deadline. The CLAT 2025 exam is a crucial step for admissions to undergraduate (5-year integrated LLB) and postgraduate (1-year LLM) law programs offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India.

How to Apply for CLAT 2025

To register for CLAT 2025, follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official CLAT website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in and click on the ‘Register’ button located at the bottom of the log-in window.
  2. Fill in the required details to create your account and log in once you have registered.
  3. Complete the registration form by providing all necessary information.
  4. Upload the required documents, including a recent front-facing photograph, signature, and applicable certificates (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and BPL) in PDF format.
  5. Click the submit button to complete your registration and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2025

To be eligible for the undergraduate course (5-year integrated law degree), candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • General Category: Secure a minimum of 45 percent marks in Class 12.
  • SC, ST, and PwD Categories: Secure at least 40 percent marks in Class 12.

For the postgraduate course (1-year LLM degree), the eligibility criteria are:

  • General Category: Complete an LLB with at least 50 percent marks.
  • SC, ST, and PwD Categories: Graduate with a minimum of 45 percent marks.

Application Fee for CLAT 2025

The online application fee for both UG and PG programs is as follows:

  • General Category: Rs 4000
  • SC, ST, PwD, and BPL Candidates: Rs 3500
