RRB ALP Exam Date 2024: Important Updates and Exam Schedule

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has recently released the tentative exam schedule for the Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP) recruitment process, which is set to take place in 2024. Exam Schedule

The RRB ALP CBT 1 exam is scheduled to take place between July and August 2024, followed by the CBT 2 exam in September 2024. The Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) round is expected to be held in November 2024, and the document verification process will commence in November or December 2024. RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024

The RRB ALP 2024 exam will consist of four stages: CBT Stage 1, CBT Stage 2, CBAT, and Document Verification. The exam pattern for each stage is as follows:

CBT 1

The CBT 1 exam will comprise 75 questions, carrying 75 marks, and will test candidates’ knowledge in Mathematics, Mental Ability, General Science, and General Awareness. The exam duration is 60 minutes.

CBT 2

The CBT 2 exam will consist of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A will have 100 questions, carrying 100 marks, and will test candidates’ knowledge in Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, and Basic Science and Engineering. The exam duration for Part A is 90 minutes. Part B will have 75 questions, carrying 75 marks, and will test candidates’ knowledge in Relevant Discipline/Trade. The exam duration for Part B is 60 minutes. Part B is a qualifying round, and the marks obtained will not be counted in the final selection process.

CBAT

Candidates who clear the CBT 2 exam will be shortlisted for the CBAT round, which will be conducted in English and Hindi. There will be no negative marking in this round. The marks obtained in the CBAT exam will be calculated in the ratio of 70:30, with 70% of the marks coming from Part A of the CBT 2 exam and 30% from the CBAT exam.

RRB ALP 2024: Qualifying Marks

To qualify for the exam, candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks fixed by the exam authority. The minimum pass percentage for the CBT 1 and CBT 2 exams is as follows:

  • CBAT exam: 42 marks
  • CBT 1 and CBT 2 exams: To be announced
