In a remarkable achievement, 18-year-old M Rohini from Tiruchirappalli district in Tamil Nadu has made history by becoming the first tribal student to secure admission to the Trichy National Institute of Technology (NIT). Rohini, a student from a tribal government school, has scored an impressive 73.8 percent in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains and has been offered a seat in the Chemical Engineering department at NIT Trichy.

Rohini’s journey to success was not without its challenges. She hails from a humble background, with her parents working as daily wage labourers in Chinna Ilupur Village. Despite the difficulties, Rohini was determined to pursue her academic goals and worked as a daily wage worker while preparing for the entrance exam. Her hard work and dedication have paid off, and she has now secured a seat in one of the country’s premier engineering institutions.

Rohini expressed her gratitude to her school headmaster and teachers, who she credited with helping and supporting her throughout her academic journey. She also thanked the Tamil Nadu state government for offering to pay her fees, which she said was a huge relief. “I am grateful to the Chief Minister, MK Stalin, for his support,” she said.

Rohini’s success story is an inspiration not only to the tribal community but to the entire nation. Her achievement is a testament to the fact that with determination and hard work, anyone can overcome adversity and achieve their goals. Her story is a reminder that success is within reach, regardless of one’s background or circumstances.

In an interview with ANI, Rohini spoke about her daily hardships and how she managed to balance her studies with her work as a daily wage worker. “My parents are daily wage workers, and I also worked as a daily wage worker while preparing for the exam,” she said. “Since I studied well, I got a seat in Trichy NIT.” Rohini’s achievement is a shining example of what can be achieved with perseverance and dedication, and her story is sure to inspire many young students from underprivileged backgrounds to strive for excellence.
