SSC GD Recruitment 2025: Notification, Vacancy, Eligibility, and Selection Process

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is set to release the notification for the recruitment of Constables (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for the year 2025 on August 27, 2024. The application window will be open for four weeks, starting from August 27, 2024, and will close on September 27, 2024. Candidates can apply online through the official SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in/.

Vacancy Details

The number of vacancies for the Constable (GD) and Rifleman (GD) positions has not been officially confirmed by the SSC. However, it is expected to be in thousands. We will update the details about the vacancy, including reservation details, once the notification is released.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the recruitment, candidates must have passed the Matriculation exam from a recognized board. The age limit is between 18 and 23 years, with upper age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Candidates are advised to check the notification brochure to verify the eligibility and other details.

Application Fee

The application fee for General and Other Backward Class candidates is ₹100, while SC/ST and Person with Disability candidates are exempt from paying any fee.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of four stages: Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and Medical Test.

  • Written Exam: The exam will be conducted online and will consist of 80 questions, with a duration of 60 minutes. The marking scheme is as follows: correct answer +2 marks, incorrect answer -0.25 marks, and unanswered question no penalty. The exam will cover four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The PET will be conducted physically and will vary depending on the task. For male candidates, the tasks include a 5 km race in 24 minutes (except for those from the Ladakh region, who will have to complete a 1.6 km race in 7 minutes). Female candidates will have to complete a 1.6 km race in 8½ minutes (except for those from the Ladakh region, who will have to complete an 800 meters race in 5 minutes).
  • Physical Standard Test (PST): The PST will be conducted physically and will assess the candidate’s height, chest (for males only), weight, and visual standards.
  • Medical Test: The medical test will be a detailed examination of the candidate’s physical fitness, including vision, hearing, and medical standards.

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online through the official SSC website by the deadline. The application window will be open for four weeks, and candidates will have to provide details, attach documents, and make a fee payment during this period.
