The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2024, inviting applications from eligible candidates for a variety of government positions. The online application window is open from June 24, 2024, to July 27, 2024.
Who can apply?
Graduates interested in roles like Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Inspector, Sub Inspector, Junior Statistical Officer, Auditor, Accountant, and more in various government departments and organizations can apply for the SSC CGL 2024 Exam.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official SSC website: https://ssc.nic.in/. The application window closes on July 27, 2024.

- Application Period: June 24, 2024, to July 27, 2024
- Tier 1 Exam (Tentative): September-October 2024
Vacancies:
A total of 17,727 vacancies are available for various posts. The detailed vacancy list for each post will be released soon.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is the minimum educational requirement for most posts. Specific posts may require additional qualifications.
- Age Limit: The age limit varies depending on the post, ranging from 18 to 32 years. Age relaxations are applicable as per government norms.
Application Fee:
The application fee for the SSC CGL 2024 Exam is INR 100. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the application fee.
Selection Process:
The SSC CGL 2024 Exam will be conducted in four tiers:
- Tier 1: Computer-based exam consisting of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
- Tier 2: Computer-based exam with two compulsory papers (Quantitative Abilities and English Language and Comprehension) and an optional paper (Statistics) for specific posts.
- Tier 3: Descriptive Paper (pen-and-paper based) testing writing skills through essay/précis/letter/application writing.
- Tier 4: Qualifying in nature and includes skill tests like Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for specific posts.
