SSC Stenographer Notification 2024

The SSC will soon announce the recruitment for Stenographer Grade C and D posts in various ministries, organizations, and departments of the Government of India. According to the SSC calendar, the notification is expected to be released on July 16, 2024. Candidates should apply before the closing date of August 14, 2024. The exam is likely to be held between October and November 2024.

Candidates with stenography skills who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the SSC Grade C and D Stenographer 2024 Recruitment. The selection process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and a skill test. Details about the vacancies will be provided in the notification on July 16, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the SSC Stenographer exam:

Citizenship:

  • Indian citizens or subjects of Nepal/Bhutan.
  • Migrants from Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Eastern African countries, and Vietnam can also apply.

Age Limit:

  • Applicants must be under 30 years of age. The age limit may vary depending on the grade applied for.
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India guidelines.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have passed the intermediate exam from a recognized board or have an equivalent qualification.
  • Stenography skills from recognized institutions are required.
  • Detailed educational qualifications will be provided in the notification.

Exam Pattern

The CBT will consist of 200 objective-type questions:

  • 50 questions on General Intelligence & Reasoning
  • 50 questions on General Awareness
  • 100 questions on English Language & Comprehension

Candidates will have 2 hours to complete the CBT. Each question carries one mark, and there is a penalty of one-third of a mark for each wrong answer. Those who pass the CBT will have to take a skill test in stenography, which involves 10 minutes of dictation in Hindi or English at the commission’s regional offices.

Application Fee

The application fee varies by category:

  • UR/OBC: ₹100/-
  • SC/ST/Women/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen: No Fee

The fee must be paid online, so have your banking details ready when applying.
