NEET-PG 2024 New Date Announced: Exam to be Held on August 11 in Two Shifts

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced on Friday that the NEET-PG 2024 exam will now take place on August 11, and it will be conducted in two shifts. The board also mentioned that the eligibility cut-off date to appear for the NEET-PG 2024 remains August 15, 2024. Students can find more details about the exam schedule on the NBEMS website, https://natboard.edu.in, in the coming days.

This announcement follows the cancellation of the exam last month due to concerns over alleged irregularities in competitive tests. The Ministry of Health decided to thoroughly assess the NEET-PG Entrance Examination processes, which are conducted by the National Board of Examination for medical students. As a precaution, the exam that was initially scheduled for June 23, 2024, was postponed.

In related news, the Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee of experts to recommend reforms in the examination process, improve data security protocols, and review the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA). This 7-member committee, led by former ISRO chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, is expected to submit its report to the ministry within the next two months.

The NTA has faced criticism and protests due to several discrepancies noted during various exams, including the NEET-UG exams. Protestors and political parties have demanded the disbanding of the NTA over these alleged irregularities.
