NBEMS Announces New NEET PG Exam Date for 2024: Scheduled for August 11 in Two Shifts

NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced on Friday that the NEET PG exam, originally set for June 22, has been rescheduled. The exam will now take place on August 11 in two shifts. This change was made as a “precautionary measure” just 12 hours before the original exam time.

The official notice stated, “In continuation of the NBEMS notice dated June 22, 2024, the conduct of the NEET-PG 2024 examination has been rescheduled. The NEET-PG 2024 will now be on August 11, 2024, in two shifts.”

The cut-off date for eligibility to appear in the NEET-PG 2024 exam, which is for admission to postgraduate medical programs in government or private medical colleges, remains August 15, 2024.

The government decided to postpone the NEET-PG 2024 exams due to controversy over alleged “irregularities” in the NEET-UG exam held on May 5. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the NEET-UG exam, is under fire for these alleged irregularities. This has led to protests across the country, with demonstrators and political parties calling for the NTA to be disbanded.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is set to hear a series of pleas on July 8 regarding paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.
