What to Wear for JEE Main 2024? Check Dress Code and Exam Day Guidelines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the second session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 starting today, April 4. The exam for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will take place on April 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9, 2024. Paper 2 (BArch/Planning) is scheduled for April 12, 2024. Admit cards for all exam days are available on the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. Detailed guidelines, including the dress code, are provided on the admit cards.

On the exam day, candidates must bring a printout of their admit card, their photographs, a valid photo ID, and other necessary documents. The admit card contains detailed guidelines for the exam day, including the dress code.

JEE Main 2024: Dress Code and Exam-Day Guidelines

For footwear, candidates should wear slippers or sandals with low heels. Closed footwear, such as shoes, should be avoided.

Candidates are advised to wear light clothes with half sleeves, such as T-shirts. Long sleeves are not allowed, and garments with large buttons should be avoided.

Candidates who wear specific attire for religious or customary reasons that do not comply with the JEE Main dress code should arrive early for proper frisking.

Ensure your admit card is printed in color on A4 size paper, with all details, including your photo and signature, clearly visible. If the admit card has multiple pages, print all of them.

Do not bring handbags, mobile phones, or any communication/electronic devices to the exam center.

Avoid wearing caps, dupattas, sunglasses, and other banned items to the exam venue.

Metal objects, including watches, are strictly prohibited. A clock will be available on the exam console for candidates to keep track of time.

Candidates can carry their JEE Main admit card, photo ID, photograph (to be pasted on the attendance sheet), PwD certificate, and scribe document (if applicable). A pen and scribble pad will be provided at the exam center. Candidates can also bring water and hand sanitizer. Diabetic candidates are allowed to bring specific edibles as mentioned on the admit card.
