IBPS Clerk Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria outlined by IBPS, which include nationality, age limit, and educational qualifications.
Nationality
Candidates must be:
- An Indian citizen, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- An individual of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the goal of establishing permanent residency in India.
Candidates in categories (ii), (iii), (iv), and (v) must obtain a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
Age Limit & Relaxation
Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age, born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2004. Age relaxations are available for special categories:
- SC/ST: 5 Years
- OBC: 3 Years
- PWD: 10 Years
- Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen: 3 Years
- Widows/Divorced/Women legally separated from their husbands and not remarried: Up to 35 Years

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a university approved by the Government of India. They must have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate proving their graduation status on the day of registration and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in their graduation while registering online. Computer literacy is mandatory.

IBPS Clerk 2024 Selection Process
The selection process consists of an Online Preliminary Examination and an Online Main Examination. There is no interview process for this position. Selection is based entirely on the results of the Mains exam, with 100% weightage given to the Mains exam score. Candidates must first qualify in the Prelims to advance to the Mains.
IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern
The IBPS Clerk Exam will be conducted in two stages: Preliminary Online Exam and Main Online Exam.
IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Pattern
The Prelim Exam is scheduled for August 2024. It consists of three sections with 100 objective-type questions, each worth one mark. Candidates must pass each of the three tests by meeting the cut-off marks set by IBPS. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be imposed for each incorrect answer.
