Registration for WBJEE Counselling 2024 Begins: Steps to Register and Required Documents

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has released the notification for WBJEE counselling 2024. Candidates who have secured a rank in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 2024 or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 are eligible to register for the WBJEE counselling. Registration can be done through the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in.

According to the official notification, the counselling process for the academic year 2024-25 will be conducted online. Students who wish to join the courses must have appeared in either the WBJEE-2024 or the JEE-Main-2024 exams and obtained a valid rank. The WBJEE-2024 exam was held on April 28, 2024, and the results have already been announced. The WBJEEB will now start the centralized online counselling, also known as e-counselling. This process will help students choose their colleges and courses based on their exam ranks.

The WBJEE 2024 counselling will take place in three rounds: allotment, upgradation, and mop-up. All steps, including registration, choice filling, allotment, and payment of the seat acceptance fee, will be conducted online through a centralized system.

Documents Required for WBJEE Counselling 2024

To register for the WBJEE counselling, candidates will need the following documents:

  • Class 10 admit card or birth certificate for date of birth verification.
  • Class 10 marksheet.
  • Class 12 marksheet.
  • Domicile certificate for candidates from West Bengal.
  • Category certificate, if applicable.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD) certificate, if applicable.
  • Income certificate for tuition fee waiver (TFW) rank holders.

Counselling Rounds Explained

  1. Allotment Round: Seats are assigned to candidates based on their ranks and preferences.
  2. Upgradation Round: Candidates who have already been allotted a seat can opt for a higher preference if available.
  3. Mop-up Round: This round is for filling any remaining vacant seats after the previous rounds.

WBJEE Counselling 2024 Registration Fee

  • For the allotment round, candidates must pay a registration fee of INR 500.
  • For the mop-up round, the fee is INR 200.
  • New candidates with a valid rank in WBJEE 2024 or JEE (Main) 2024 must pay INR 1,000 for registration.
