For travelers from ASEAN countries like Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, entry is hassle-free with a visa-free stay of up to 30 days. Additionally, citizens from Japan, South Korea, Russia, Switzerland, and Luxembourg can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 15 days. This seamless entry process enhances Laos’s appeal as a prime destination for tourism, business travel, corporate travel, and cultural exploration, making it accessible and welcoming for tourists from these countries.
The tourism and travel contributions to GDP for 2022 and 2023 have not yet been calculated. However, over 1.67 million tourists visited Laos from January to June 2023, compared to only one million tourists from January to September 2022.
