New Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Stunt Riding With Guy Martin

Royal Enfield is set to launch its new Guerrilla 450 on July 17th, directly competing with the Triumph Speed 400. The global unveiling will take place in Barcelona, Spain. Ahead of the launch, former motorcycle racer Guy Martin has teased the Guerrilla 450 on his Instagram.

Guerrilla 450’s Off-Road Prowess

Guy Martin, a highly skilled rider, showcases the Guerrilla 450’s off-road capabilities, proving that a roadster can also be adventurous. The bike’s sturdy build and excellent handling make it exciting to ride on both roads and light off-road trails. With Guy Martin, who has 17 podium finishes at TT events, demonstrating its potential, the Guerrilla 450 looks promising.

The teaser features burnout visuals, hinting at the bike’s powerful 452 cc Sherpa engine, one of Royal Enfield’s best designs. The engine produces 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It also includes premium features like a slipper clutch and ride-by-wire technology. The Guerrilla 450 might outperform the Himalayan 450 due to its lighter weight.

The bike offers comfortable riding ergonomics with a low seat height and centrally positioned footpegs. It supports stand-up riding on off-road tracks, as shown in the teaser. With its versatility, the Guerrilla 450 can appeal to a wide range of riders with different needs. Check out Guy Martin performing stunts with the new RE G450 in the teaser below.

Shared Components with Himalayan 450

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 shares several components with the Himalayan 450, which helps reduce production costs and makes the bike more affordable. Shared parts include the engine casing, large radiator, exhaust, center stand, and centrally mounted horn. The subframe, swing arm, and pillion footrest are also likely to be the same as those on the Himalayan 450.

Teasers reveal all-LED lighting, a circular headlamp, and the TFT Tripper Dash, which is expected to be the same unit used in the Himalayan 450. It features Bluetooth support and functions like music, advanced metrics, smartphone app pairing, and navigation via Google Maps.

Unique Features and Competition

Unlike the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 has 17-inch wheels at both ends and conventional telescopic forks at the front, instead of the 43mm USD forks seen on the Himalayan 450. It lacks features like side luggage mounts, tank braces, and rear luggage provisions, which helps reduce its weight and ensures a higher power-to-weight ratio.

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will compete with bikes like the Triumph Speed 400, Hero Mavrick 440, Harley-Davidson X440, and Yezdi Roadster. Pricing is expected to start around Rs 2.3 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh. In European markets, the Guerrilla 450 will mainly challenge the Triumph Speed 400 in the A2 roadster segment.
