India triumphed over South Africa by seven runs in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 held in Barbados, breaking a decade-long streak of near-misses in ICC tournaments. One of the standout moments for Indian fans was Rohit Sharma’s confident walk to collect the trophy during the presentation ceremony. Interestingly, Rohit’s walk was inspired by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, who used to enter the wrestling ring in a similar fashion.

Ric Flair recently took to Twitter to share videos of both his and Rohit’s walks. “The Worldwide Sensation! WOOOOO!” he captioned the post, showing his excitement.

This isn’t the first time the WWE legend has commented on Rohit’s walk. On June 30, just a day after the final, Flair posted a video of Rohit approaching the stage to receive the trophy, captioning it, “.@ImRo45 Taking A Page Out Of My Playbook! WOOOOO!”

Indian Team to Leave Barbados on Tuesday

The Indian cricket team has been stuck in Barbados after the final due to Cyclone Beryl, which forced local authorities to shut down the airport for safety reasons. With the weather now improving, the team is scheduled to depart today at 6pm Barbados time and is expected to arrive in New Delhi at 7.45pm local time on Wednesday, July 3. The team is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon their arrival in the capital.

Next up for Team India is a tour of Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series starting on July 6. Most of the players from the T20 World Cup squad have been given a rest for this tour, with several young players getting the opportunity to showcase their talent.
