Rahul Dravid Shares Why He Stayed On as Head Coach After CWC23 Setback

Rahul Dravid has opened up about his decision to continue as India’s head coach after his initial two-year term ended following last year’s Cricket World Cup.

Dravid mentioned that he had planned to step down from his role after the crushing defeat to Australia in the final. However, a phone call from captain Rohit Sharma made him reconsider.

“Ro, thank you very much for making that call to me in November and asking [me] to continue,” Dravid said in a video shared by the BCCI.

He expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s been a privilege and a pleasure to work with each and every one of you. Ro, thanks for the time we spent chatting, discussing, agreeing, and even disagreeing at times. Thank you so very much.”
