International Space Station Struck by Debris After Mysterious Satellite Incident
The U.S. Space Command has addressed the situation involving the International Space Station (ISS) being hit by debris following the unexplained destruction of a satellite. In a statement posted on X, they assured that there are no immediate threats. They are continuing their regular checks to ensure the safety and sustainability of space activities. The U.S. Space Command has informed various commercial, governmental, Allied, and partner organizations, including Russia, the satellite’s owner, through Space-Track.org.
Thankfully, it seems that any potential crisis has been avoided, and the ISS is currently safe. The U.S. Space Command confirmed this by stating that Mission Control kept an eye on the debris’ path. After about an hour, the crew was given the all-clear to leave their spacecraft, and the station returned to its normal operations.
