Namita Thapar of Shark Tank to See Significant Gains from Emcure Pharma IPO

Namita Thapar, a judge on Shark Tank India and an executive director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd., is poised to see significant financial returns from the company’s initial public offering (IPO). Thapar has decided to sell a portion of her shares in the company, which could result in a 293-fold return on her original investment, as per the company’s red herring prospectus.

The IPO, set to open on July 3, includes a fresh issue of shares worth Rs 800 crore and an offer for sale of 1.14 crore equity shares from existing shareholders and promoters. The price range for the shares has been set between Rs 960 and Rs 1,008 per share.

Thapar owns 63,39,800 shares, representing a 3.5% stake in Emcure. She plans to sell 12,68,600 of these shares through the offer for sale. Her average cost per share is Rs 3.44, making her total initial investment Rs 2.18 crore.
