Pixel 9 Series in August, OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite and vivo Y28s Official, Week 26 in Review
In a surprising move, Google has announced that it will hold a Pixel event in August, rather than the usual October. The Pixel 9 series, which will include three phones for the first time, is set to be unveiled on August 13.
The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite has been officially launched. This phone features a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC. The Indian version of the Nord CE4 Lite comes with a 5,500mAh battery, which is 10% larger than its predecessor. The global version, however, has a slightly smaller 5,110mAh battery. Both versions support 80W fast charging, allowing the 5,500mAh variant to reach full charge in 52 minutes. The phone also includes a microSD slot for additional storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers with 300% Ultra Volume Mode. Additionally, it supports 5W reverse charging.
Pre-orders for the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite have started in Europe. The phone is available in a single configuration of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, priced at €330. However, an early bird deal reduces the price to €280. In India, the phone will go directly to open sales starting on June 27, with the base model (8GB RAM and 128GB storage) priced at ₹21,000.
The vivo Y28s has also been officially announced. This smartphone features a 6.56-inch HD+ 90Hz LCD display, a Dimensity 6300 SoC, and 8GB of RAM. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. The vivo Y28s 5G will be available in Mocha Brown and Twinkling Purple colors, but pricing and availability details have not yet been revealed.
Another phone that made its debut this week is the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. Key features of this phone include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, up to 24GB of RAM, and a powerful 6,100mAh battery. The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro is available in Porcelain White, Green Field, and Titanium Silver colors, with prices starting at CNY 3,199 ($440) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model.
Motorola has also introduced a new phone this week, the S50 Neo for China, which will be known as the G85 in Europe. This phone features a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, a curved 6.7-inch pOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000mAh battery with 30W charging. Motorola also unveiled the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra, making both official alongside the S50 Neo/G85.
There are rumors that the upcoming Redmi Note 14 Pro may not feature a 200MP camera as previously speculated. Instead, it is expected to come with a 50MP sensor, which will hopefully be larger. The phone is also rumored to have a “1.5K” resolution screen, similar to the Note 13 Pro.
Teasers for the CMF Phone 1 suggest that it will have a removable back plate, although it may not include the Glyph interface. The removable backs will be secured using the Nothing Lock mechanism.
A rather wild rumor from South Korea suggests that Samsung is considering using MediaTek Dimensity chips for its Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to launch in January next year. If this rumor is true, the Galaxy S25 family could feature three different SoCs in various markets: MediaTek Dimensity chips (likely the Dimensity 9400), Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, and Samsung’s own Exynos 2500.
