Arvind Kejriwal Challenges CBI Arrest in Delhi High Court Over Excise Policy Case

Arvind Kejriwal was taken into custody by the CBI on June 26 while he was already in judicial custody due to a money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Earlier, on June 20, a trial court had granted Kejriwal bail in the ED case. However, the very next day, the Delhi High Court put a temporary hold on this bail after the ED made an urgent request. This hold was confirmed by the Delhi High Court on June 25.

Subsequently, Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on June 26 and placed in CBI custody until June 29. When the CBI did not request an extension of his custody on June 29, he was then sent to judicial custody until July 12.
