US Pressuring Hamas to Accept Israeli Proposal: Hamdan

Hamas has accused the United States of pressuring the Palestinian resistance group to accept an Israeli truce proposal that does not meet their demand for a complete end to Israel’s aggressive actions in the Gaza Strip.

Osama Hamdan, a representative of Hamas in Lebanon, made these comments during a news conference on Saturday.

“The American administration is trying to pressure the Hamas movement to accept the Israeli truce proposal without any changes. This is an attempt to improve the image of this administration,” Hamdan stated.

Since October 7, Israel has been conducting a severe military campaign against Gaza, supported by the United States, which provides Israel with strong military and political backing.

The conflict began after Gaza’s resistance groups launched a surprise retaliatory attack on the occupied territories. So far, the war has resulted in the deaths of nearly 38,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women, children, and teenagers.

Hamas insists that any acceptable truce must end the war, ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and include a genuine prisoner exchange deal.

However, Israel has stated that it will only agree to temporary pauses in the fighting until Hamas is completely eliminated.

Despite this, Hamas has vowed to defend Gaza with all its resources and has declared that it cannot be removed from governing the Palestinian territory.

Hamdan concluded by saying, “Hamas is ready to consider any proposal that ensures a permanent ceasefire, a full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and a serious prisoner exchange deal.”
