CMF Phone 1 Confirmed To Feature MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, Aims for Sub-Rs 20,000 Market

CMF by Nothing, a sub-brand of the UK-based tech company Nothing, has officially announced the processor for its first smartphone, the CMF Phone 1. This comes after co-founder Akis Evangelidis hinted that the phone would have a top-tier processor, and it seems he was right.

The CMF Phone 1 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G chipset, an 8-core processor built on a 4nm process by TSMC. This makes the phone a strong contender in the sub-Rs 20,000 price range, which is usually filled with less powerful processors like the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 or Dimensity 7050.

Expected Price of CMF Phone 1 in India

Although CMF hasn’t officially announced the price, leaks suggest it will be around Rs 15,999 with bank offers. This competitive pricing, along with the Dimensity 7300 chip, could shake up the mid-range smartphone market.

For comparison, the Oppo Reno 12, which also uses the Dimensity 7300 chip, was launched in Europe for EUR 499.99 (about Rs 44,000). This big price difference indicates that the CMF Phone 1 could be a great deal for budget-conscious users looking for strong performance.

Features of CMF Phone 1

Besides the processor and an AMOLED screen, CMF has not disclosed many other details. However, teasers suggest the phone might have a removable back, as seen in a company video showing a visible screw. Leaks also indicate that the phone will come in black and orange colors.

Early benchmarks show that the Dimensity 7300 outperforms the Snapdragon 782G, Dimensity 7050, and Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which could mean smoother performance for users of the CMF Phone 1.

Launch Date in India

The CMF Phone 1 will officially launch in India on July 8, and the event will be streamed live on cmf.tech. The company will also introduce the Watch Pro 2 smartwatch and Buds Pro 2 earphones at the event. Teasers suggest that the Buds Pro 2 will have a smart dial for music control, although its exact functionality is still unknown. The CMF Watch Pro 2 is expected to offer customizable watch faces.
