The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the team of the tournament for the T20 World Cup 2024. The Indian cricket team, which triumphed over South Africa in the final, has six players in the squad. Surprisingly, no South African players made it to the XI, despite their runner-up finish. Leading the Indian contingent is captain Rohit Sharma, who impressed with his batting throughout the tournament. Middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav also earned a spot. India’s bowling was particularly strong, with pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, along with all-rounder Hardik Pandya, making the list.
Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, India ended an 11-year wait for an ICC title and a 17-year gap as T20 world champions. The final, held in Barbados, was a thrilling match that seemed to favor South Africa for most of the game. However, India turned the tide with exceptional death bowling from Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh.
Despite his stellar performance in the final, where he was named Player of the Match, Virat Kohli did not make it to the team of the tournament.

The 12th man is Anrich Nortje from South Africa, who took 15 wickets with an average of 13.4 and an economy rate of 5.74, with his best figures being 4/7.
It was surprising to see that no South African players made it to the main XI, with Nortje only being included as the 12th man. On the other hand, several players from Afghanistan were included, reflecting their remarkable season.
