Video: Massive Landslide in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar After Rain

A massive landslide occurred today in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar region, blocking a road after light to moderate rainfall hit isolated areas. The landslide obstructed the Kishtwar-Paddar road in Kishtwar district, halting vehicular movement.

A video of the incident shows a significant portion of the hillside collapsing, with loose mud sliding down. People can be heard screaming and fleeing the area in panic.

Officials informed news agency PTI that machines were later brought in to clear the road as quickly as possible.

The weather department has issued a warning for flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones in some vulnerable areas due to expected moderate thunderstorms or lightning in the coming week.
