Andhra Pradesh Engineering (BE/B.Tech) Admission Procedure 2024
The admission process for Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) in Andhra Pradesh for the year 2024 is detailed below. Candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the AP EAMCET are eligible for the B.Tech admission process in Andhra Pradesh.
AP EAMCET 2024 Qualifying Marks: General category candidates must score at least 25% of the maximum marks to be eligible for engineering admission in Andhra Pradesh. However, there is no minimum qualifying mark for SC and ST category students in AP EAPCET. These candidates only need to achieve a non-zero score in AP EAMCET.
AP EAMCET Ranking Process: Candidates must have an EAMCET rank to register for the counselling process. The admission authority ranks candidates based on their normalized marks in AP EAPCET. The normalization process gives 75% weightage to the AP EAMCET score and 25% weightage to the Intermediate (+2) percentage. The rank obtained in AP EAMCET is valid for engineering admission in Andhra Pradesh.
Merit List Preparation: The APSCHE prepares a merit list that includes the names of all candidates who qualified for AP EAPCET as per the minimum eligibility marks set by the admission authority. The rank and normalized score of the candidates are considered while preparing the merit list.
In case of a tie, where more than one student secures the same combined score, the admission authority will resolve it in the following order:
- The total score secured in AP EAPCET 2024
- The total marks scored in Mathematics at the Intermediate level
- The total marks scored in Physics at the Intermediate level
- Aggregate marks scored in Intermediate public exams
- If the tie still persists, the older candidate (based on the date of birth) will be given preference over the younger one.
